Empowering Georgeline, and other success stories
“Hello, my name is Georgeline.
I feel like the luckiest girl in this world. I met KCH at a moment where everything was dark for me. I felt hopeless, no one who cared for me. l had no one to help me go to school.
From the age of 17 when l was in 7th grade, KCH gave me all the support I needed, and it was from that moment that everything changed. Thanks to it I became a better person with confidence in myself. KCH has continued to help me.
Last year I finished high school and started learning pastry and cooking. Today thanks to KCH, l graduated, and I will have a better future. For this, l would like to thank all the staff and supporters of KCH. THANK YOU!"
I wish I could personally introduce you to our incredible students in Haiti and show you the profound difference Kids Connection Haiti is making in their lives—thanks to the generosity of people like you.
While education is the foundation of our mission, true transformation requires more than just academic support. It's about equipping our students with the tools for long-term success and a sustainable future.
Our life skills workshops are a vital component of this sustainable development. Many of our students come from unstable backgrounds, where they've had little to no guidance from adults on basic life skills. Coupled with career development workshops—like how to prepare for employment and where to find opportunities—our students gain the confidence and skills they need to succeed.
Just last week, Georgeline and five other students graduated from sewing-, pastry- and cooking school and will now start a micro-business. Additionally, our recent graduate Carolle was hired by the very company where she was doing her internship. Stories like theirs are common in the KCH community, and they’re a testament to the power of our holistic and personalized approach. We don’t just educate; we empower. And the results are life-changing.
This is the kind of sustainable impact your support makes possible.
With warmest regards,
Astrid
