Against All Odds... Happiness Times Two!

Imagine having fourteen siblings and living in a dangerous camp where gangs control every corner. After losing her father and, more recently, a brother, Bedjine faced challenges that could easily crush anyone’s spirit. But this month, she has a lot to celebrate!

Bedjine joined our program in April 2023, determined to carve out a future in event planning. Despite the instability in Haiti she persevered, working tirelessly to achieve her dream. On December 8, 2024, Bedjine officially graduated!

Today, she’s already making waves as a savvy businesswoman. She’s selling anniversary gift combos and decorating venues for special events, Bedjine is building a reputation in her community.

Wagdalie’s journey has been just as inspiring. After her father was kidnapped and killed, her mother fled to the countryside, leaving Wagdalie to live with her blind uncle. Yet, even in the face of such profound loss, she held onto her determination to create a better life.

In October 2023, Wagdalie began cooking and pastry classes, channeling her passion into learning a skill she could share with others. On September 29, 2024, she graduated, equipped with the knowledge and confidence to make her mark on Haiti’s culinary scene.

Thanks to KCH’s team and the generosity of our sponsors, dreams are turning into reality.
