See their smiles? That's your impact.

Haiti is in a deep, dark, humanitarian crisis. Miraculously, our students are still standing firm. Even when the streets are inaccessible and the schools closed, they know they can count on basic services such as housing, food and medical care.

You are a ray of light that shines on them, and this is the evidence. Thanks to you, there IS hope. They know that you care.

Please keep praying for safety, protection and provision for the poorest people in Haiti. You are making a difference!

With love and gratitude,
Astrid

The situation in Haiti

In the past few weeks, things have rapidly declined in Port-au-Prince.

Thousands of people are marching the streets every day, protesting the lack of food, water, fuel, and safety. Public services in major cities have been offline for weeks. The country is in lockdown. Gangs are in control of 60% of the capitol and are blocking basic supplies from entering the country through the port. They demand that the Prime Minister steps down.

At least eight people died from cholera, a disease that wiped out nearly 10,000 people in Haiti a decade ago. More than a dozen prisoners have died from starvation. Fuel prices are so high that three quarters of the main hospitals have no electricity and are being forced to close.
