Community Service helps students learn AND give back

Our students have such passion for helping their communities and we couldn't be more proud of them!

"As a young person it is important that I get involved in the change of my country, I feel very proud of this gesture and I would like to continue on this path, which is to help my neighbor." - Guvens

"If we join forces, I think that Haiti is on the path of development. Yes, it will take a little time, at least we need to be motivated and have hope." - Jonas

Community service is an important part of Kids Connection Haiti's program. Students participate in activities like picking up litter off the streets to beautify the neighborhood, helping disabled people, care for orphaned and abandoned children, and even building houses for people in need. While community service is mandatory for all students, they approach it with a joyful heart. Activities not only benefit someone in the community, but greatly enhance the students’ self esteem along with increasing group bonding. It’s an empowering and rewarding experience that not only fills the students’ hearts with joy, but helps others, too.
